Appropriate candidates have experience with multiple components across the big data stack: front-end client-side instrumentation, experimentation, logging APIs, ETL, datawarehouse schema design, MapReduce,visualization, and analytics. Responsibilities

• Build systems to capture and represent information about user interactions on web, mobile web, and mobile apps
• Develop data processing pipelines that convert core datasets into powerful signals and metrics of user behavior
• Develop experiment management interfaces that allow product engineers to easily define and deploy controlled product experiments
• Author tools for computing and visualizing the effects of product experiments
• Develop best practices for data collection and experimentation, and communicate those to product engineering teams
• Develop innovative tools for data visualization, exploration, and discovery
• Drive powerful analyses of how users engage with publishers content
• Create new algorithms to mine massive amounts of data

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field
• A passion for working with big data, and improving and understanding the user experience
• And more than one of the following:
  • Knowledge of Perl, PHP, Python or other scripting language
  • Knowledge of relational databases and query languages such as SQL or Hive
  • Knowledge of C, C++, or Java
  • Knowledge of web technologies including XHTML and JavaScript
  • Experience working with web or mobile based applications
  • Experience analyzing massive data sets using distributed parallelized infrastructure such as Hadoop or MapReduce
